Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is a critical omega-3 fatty acid that regulates various physiological functions in the human body. DHA is required for the growth and development of infants and schoolchildren as well as for the physiological needs of pregnant women and the elderly. Surprisingly, DHA found in fish oil is actually produced by microalgae that fish consume as food. For this reason, microalgae oil is the richest source of DHA!

Chang Gung Biotechnology’s Microalgae-DHA Formula is derived from the microalgae Schizochytrium which is cultivated in closed culture to prevent any contamination by heavy metals or organic pollutants from the marine food chain. Our pure microalgae oil is obtained using proprietary technology involving cell wall disruption and centrifugation that preserves the oil’s bioactivities and properties. Most fish oil products available in the market contain much more eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) than DHA. However, our product is significantly different from other concentrated fish oils as it contains only a trace amount of EPA, making it suitable for infants, pregnant and lactating women, and individuals with abnormal blood coagulation. In addition, DHA found in microalgae oil consists of the triglyceride form which is more easily absorbable than DHA forms found in other concentrated fish oils and obtained by chemical modifications. Three to four softgels of our Microalgae-DHA Formula provide 210 to 280 mg of DHA which corresponds to the daily recommended intake in Europe and the U.S.

Suggested Usage: For 1 to 2 year-old infants, take 1 to 2 softgels daily; for children above 3 years of age and adults, take 2 to 3 softgels daily; for pregnant and lactating women, take 3 to 4 softgels daily; best after meals.
